You need the assurance that your project delivers the best possible results, meets best practice and is in the best hands. Intergen’s Project Management Office is in place to make sure this happens on every project.

Our approach to project governance is one of collaboration and communication. We work to establish a partnership with you and work towards the same goal, and our project managers will help you plan, guide and optimise your project.
Whether it’s helping to manage day-to-day operations or the wider project and programme activities, we work within established and proven frameworks and in close consultation with you and your project stakeholders.
About the Intergen Project Management Office (PMO)
Our national Project Management Office is responsible for the successful delivery of your projects. It exists to ensure consistency and professionalism in all engagements and all locations.
Our project management framework is based on PRINCE2 and PMBOK, which stipulates a varied level of process depending on type, size and complexity of the project.
We only prescribe process where it delivers value. We always look to maintain a balance where we can to enable creativity and innovation while ensuring that just enough governance is applied so that projects are successful, with great communication and a positive outcome for everyone involved.
About the Intergen Project Delivery Methodology
We establish your business requirements first and then translate these into a comprehensive and systematic project plan.
We plan our solution delivery by focusing on five important stages. Each stage has its own tasks and purpose, and is critical in its own right.
Envision
Defining the vision and the high level solution overview. Here we workshop and collaborate with you and get our technical architects, business analysts and subject matter experts involved. We don’t attempt to design everything upfront. We’ll determine project milestones, and break the big picture down into achievable elements.
The following three steps are repeated for each milestone:
Plan
We’ll analyse and design the milestone features in more detail, completing analysis, interactive user interface design and technical design tasks.
Develop
During this phase we build or implement the features defined during planning.
Stabilise
This includes unit testing, system testing and validation of the solution by gaining user feedback and completing user testing.
Deploy
When development and stabilisation is complete, and you have accepted the solution, it is deployed into the production environment and transition to business as usual support is completed.
What makes a great project?
- Large is fine; small is better. We break projects down into focused elements.
- ‘Just enough’ analysis and design. We don’t make premature decisions or assumptions.
- Breadth before depth. Big picture first, detail thereafter.
- Convert early. We identify and convert data early to eliminate surprise and difficulty.
- Difficult before simple.
- Workshops and walkthroughs.
- No surprises.
- Testing.
- Comprehensive, ongoing support.
- Milestone and deliverable based.
- Strong partnerships.
- Reviewing, quantifying and managing risk. Before, during and after. We have strong reporting, risk and review processes in place at every step of the project.
