The Role

As Senior Security Specialist in our Modern Workplace team in Wellington, you will provide objective advice, expertise and specialist skills in Microsoft Security. You will show deep expertise in a range of Microsoft security technology and business trends, covering the full stack of technology and process including desktop, hardware, application, infrastructure, cloud, public and private sector. 

You will be "Hands-On" as well as have the ability to chair workshops and provide advice regarding governance and policy. Your technical security skills and awareness will be strong, and you will lead other team members through incidents and reviews.

You will be confident in your craft, in your brainpower and your security knowledge.  Driven in the way you provide opinions advising on security, finding solutions to security challenges and providing feedback relating to bettering security processes.
 
Your Responsibilities 

  • Provide “hand-on” security expertise and advice regarding governance and policy
  • Work with clients to analyse and define and document business security requirements
  • Facilitate analysis and chair workshops
  • Take ownership for the implementation, configuration and delivery of security projects
  • Provide client support and relationship management as required
  • Advocate collaboration and knowledge sharing plus fostering innovation and change
  • Providing training and technical guidance

Your Experience

  • Extensive demonstrated consulting and implementation experience in Microsoft solutions 
  • Superior knowledge and industry expert in Microsoft security across Office 365, Azure and general Microsoft security products and services
  • Proven experience with MS Sentinel
  • Knowledge of PCI ISO and NZISM
  • CISSP, CISM and/or GIAC certifications highly desirable
  • Broad experience across compliance, risk assessments, design review, and policy improvement
  • Strong skills and knowledge in Active Directory and Microsoft Cloud services in general
  • Outstanding communication, negotiation and influencing skills
  • Strong consulting capabilities, stakeholder management and customer focused approach
  • Experience in the pre-sales process, including gathering user requirements, solution design, customer presentations and workshops
  • Passion and enthusiasm towards all things security – not only is Security your day job but it’s your hobby!

Must be NZ Citizen or Perm Resident for 5+years in order to obtain and maintain CONFIDENTIAL Security Clearance
