Intergen has been recognised for its Signal social media monitoring tool, designed especially to assist the public safety and emergency management community in better understanding and incorporating social media information, allowing real-time responses to critical situations.

Tony Stewart, Intergen’s Chief Executive Officer, says of the announcement: “It is a real honour to be named as a finalist from a pool of more than 3000 entries from across the world, and shows the strength of our Signal social media monitoring tool and the role it plays in helping frontline respondents ensure public safety and national security. One of our main focuses is on using technology as a tool to make a positive difference, and Signal is a great example of technology playing a vital role in doing this.”

Steve Milligan, Public Safety and Emergency Management Practice Lead says: “Signal has become a vital tool in helping public sector organisations very simply and quickly filter time-critical information online, helping them to use user-generated content to build a picture of a situation or event. With the sheer amount of information created online – more than 500,000 tweets every minute, for example – the role Signal plays in cutting through this noise will become increasingly invaluable, and we are delighted to see Signal recognised on the global stage.”

Jon Roskill, Corporate Vice President, Worldwide Partner Group, Microsoft Corp says:

“We are pleased to recognize our 2013 Partner Award finalists for their dedication in solving today’s most vital technology challenges facing our mutual customers. Their unwavering commitment to quality and innovative solutions earns their place amongst our best Microsoft partners. Congratulations to this year’s finalists. We are excited to see the exceptional work you’ll deliver in the year ahead!”
