Intergen sponsors ANZ Championship umpires for third year

24 February 2014

For the third year in a three-year partnership, information technology services company Intergen is sponsoring the netball umpires in the ANZ Championship.

“Once again, Intergen is extremely proud to be a sponsor of such an exciting trans-Tasman competition, and we’re looking forward to another action-packed season,” says Intergen Group Chief Executive Officer, Tony Stewart. “As a company, we see a lot of our own values reflected in netball as a game – things like professionalism, integrity and a drive to be the best – and we’re honoured to be associated with a sport of this calibre.”

ANZ Championship General Manager, Andrew Crook, says the ANZ Championship is extremely appreciative of Intergen’s continued support of the world’s best netball league.

“Intergen’s ongoing support of our umpires is simply fantastic – we are thrilled to have their backing, both in New Zealand and Australia. The ANZ Championship actively looks to develop and improve the professional structures for officials as part of our strategic goals and the investment from Intergen is key to achieving those outcomes,” he says.

Umpire Liz Boon says of the significance of Intergen’s umpire sponsorship: “To have the support of an organisation like Intergen behind the umpires in this semi-professional era means the world to us.”

This year’s ANZ Championship begins in Christchurch on Saturday, March 1, with the grand final to be held on June 22.
