Intergen – and Intergenite – highlights of 2016

With only a month left until the end of the year here are our highlights from another busy 12 months.

Intergen Auckland’s new location, 152 Fanshawe Street

2016 kicked off with our Intergen Auckland office moving from Takapuna across the bridge and into a much more central location on Fanshawe Street, right across the road from Microsoft. This move could not have been better for either Intergenites or clients, it puts the company in the heart of Auckland’s innovation hub, and closer to clients, making it easier for Intergen’s team to work with not only Microsoft but our other partners as well.

The 22 newest members to the Yellow family, 2016 Intergen Graduate intake

At the end of January our annual graduate intake arrived, this year with 22 of New Zealand’s finest IT graduates joining the Yellow family. Their week long preparation on bootcamp, before joining the working world, started at the Intergen Wellington office with talks from CEO, Simon Bright, as well as other business leaders. On the afternoon of this first day, in accordance with over six years of tradition, they were off to Makahika Outdoor Pursuit Centre for some good ol’ pushing of personal boundaries.

We were awarded Data Analytics Partner of the Year for our work with travel company JUCY. Our work with Ryman Healthcare on the retirement village operator’s transformative myRyman app was recognised in two awards: Devices and Deployment Partner of the Year and Windows App Developer Partner of the Year (the latter received jointly with NV Interactive).

In March Intergen was extremely proud to be invited to join both the Microsoft Azure IoT Red Carpet partner program and the Microsoft Power BI Red Carpet partner program. Microsoft Carpet partner programs are invite-only groups of Microsoft Partners, exclusively selected for demonstrating an exceptional level of capability, innovation and expertise in Microsoft’s tools and platforms.

ShadowTech Day Wellington
Women of Intergen with our 2016 Shadowtech high school students

Our Wellington office hosted female high school students from Wellington Girls College, Sacred Heart College, Aotea College and Tawa College, for the day in July as part of the Shadow Tech Mentors initiative. These young women were hosted by female Intergenites and were able to see what a day in their working life looks like. This is an important initiative for Intergen and a privilege to show these young women how exciting it is to be a part of this industry and our company.

August brought Intergen’s admittance to the exclusive Microsoft Dynamics Inner Circle 2016, honouring the top 1% of Dynamics partners worldwide. Quite an achievement for a Wellington founded business as it is an elite group of 60 of the most strategic Microsoft Dynamics partners from around 10,000 certified Dynamics partners across the globe.

As well as attending twelve conferences around New Zealand and the US throughout 2016, where we gained great insights, Intergen’s big event, Dynamics Day, went off without a hitch on 20 October. Intergenites and a few of our clients joined forces and spoke about current solutions that are relevant to many organisations around New Zealand. Along with this we introduced Microsoft Dynamics 365, such an exciting development for the IT industry and finished the day on a high unveiling our new Digital Convergence conference which will take over Dynamics Day in 2017 to cover an even broader range of topics.
