What we’ve been up to lately with Microsoft Corporation…

Whether it’s building accessible technology or keynote demo material for Microsoft’s executives at massive global events, it’s fair to say Intergen has been keeping busy with our Microsoft friends in the Northern Hemisphere. In our most recent SMARTS magazine . I reflected on our most recent work for Microsoft US, specifically with regard to our work in the accessibility space and in creating imaginative and engaging product demo material for high profile Microsoft keynotes . ... read full post

It's official - SharePoint 2010 is now available (and here's everything you need to know for starters)

If you’ve been following the Intergen blog lately, or if you attended our ‘SharePoint Unveiled’ launch yesterday in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch, you’ll know that our SharePoint experts have been all-consumed by the latest release of the world’s leading business collaboration platform, SharePoint 2010. We’ve been hard at work with a number of customers building their 2010 sites and it’s fair to say our Portals, Content and Collaboration team are champing at the bit to bring the benefits of the latest release to our customers. ... read full post

Breaking down the Chinese Walls: Intergen + SharePoint 2010, better together

At Intergen we pride ourselves on working with technology VERY early in the product lifecycle. Most of the time this is under NDA and, as such we can't share it with our customers. In some cases we actually need to implement Chinese Walls , such that we restrict knowledge of certain projects even amongst our staff. This sort of approach is quite prevalent among other professional services businesses, such as legal and accountancy firms, but it's a rarer occurrence in the IT business. ... read full post

Proper prior preparation, planning and procedure prevents poor performance

I missed the New Zealand vs South Africa Rugby game in the weekend. To be frank, under most circumstances it wouldn’t have been a bad game to have missed but I had been talking it up so much with the ex-pat South African manager of the lodge I’m staying at in Zambia that turning up right on the full-time whistle was more than a little embarrassing. However the funniest part of the whole debacle and the part that I hope that you, dear reader, might take some value from is how I missed the game in the first place. ... read full post

Elasticity is the key for Cloud early adopters

I’ve been spending a bunch of time of late thinking, working and talking about Cloud Computing platforms. There’s plenty of smoke and even a little fire too. If you’ve been listening to the IT media for the past 12 months, Cloud Computing means many things to many different people, but I tend to list three key attributes of most Cloud Platforms: ... read full post
