A new generation in ERP is here – Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 is available from today

The beginning of August heralds an exciting time in the world of ERP. The launch of Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012, with “general availability” from today, is a significant milestone for Microsoft. It’s also an important date for the team at Intergen, and the beginning of a busy and – we’re predicting – innovative time for many organisations choosing this latest version of Dynamics AX as their future enterprise resource planning platform.

Microsoft Dynamics AX

Much like a lot of the early work we do with Microsoft technologies, where there’s a lot happening behind the scenes and below the surface, in recent months our Microsoft Dynamics team has been hard at work with several key customers who have identified Dynamics AX 2012 as the way forward for their organisations. The foundations are laid and work is underway. We’d love to say more on this, but it’s early days… and the testimonials (glowing, of course) will come in good time. We’ll look forward to checking back in here in the coming months with some first-hand customer stories and some direct user perspectives on the product.

At Microsoft’s Convergence conference in April, Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 was first introduced to the world as an “innovative new ERP solution that empowers people to anticipate and embrace change, by providing an agility made possible by a unified business process repository, model-driven architecture, and the simplicity of a familiar user experience and built-in collaboration tools.”

The August 1 date is the first milestone in a series of staggered release dates from Microsoft, with a global virtual launch planned for September. At Intergen’s Dynamics Day, to be held in Auckland on August 10, we will be lifting the covers on AX 2012, offering what will be, for many, a first look at what it has to offer. If you’d like to learn about AX 2012 – along with Dynamics NAV and CRM – at this free event, there are still (limited) spaces available. Or, of course, if you’d like a one-on-one preview or an informal chat, we’re always delighted to speak with people about all things Dynamics-related.

If you’re wanting to do the research and find out more about what’s so new and different about AX 2012, watch this blog over the coming months for highlights from members of our team, who will be offering a high level view on their favourite features and why these are worth considering as a business.

There’s also a good amount of preliminary information available. Perhaps the best literature to get you started is the Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 preview factsheet. And if you’re wanting to delve a little deeper, there’s also a Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 whitepaper available.

The Intergen Dynamics team has its sleeves rolled up and is already immersed in the new technology, excited about bringing it to the world – or, more specifically, to Australasian organisations ready to make their next step in ERP. Let the new generation of ERP begin!
