Get ready for Microsoft Dynamics AX (former AX7)

When Microsoft Corp. announced the next release of Microsoft Dynamics AX it promised an enterprise-class business application architected to take full advantage of the next-generation cloud computing resources.

Bringing together the power and intelligence of cloud computing allowed the creation of a platform that is fully optimised for the modern business.

Scott Guthrie, executive vice president, Microsoft Cloud and Enterprise said “When you combine the hyperscale, enterprise-grade and hybrid-cloud capabilities of Microsoft Azure with the real-time insights and intuitive user experience of Dynamics AX, organisations and individuals are empowered to transform their business operations.”

And transforming business is all about intelligent user experience, enabling business to make smarter decisions, delivering value with a software that can quickly adapt to new realities, always supporting business objectives and giving insights that can help drive decision-making to new levels.

With Microsoft Dynamics AX (that’s right – no year or version number now!) ERP systems become flexible and fluid. Whether the business vertical is – retail, manufacturing, distribution, professional services or public sector – the new Microsoft Dynamics AX can quickly adapt to industry needs thanks to its use of cloud resources to provide ongoing service and management capabilities.

Mike Ehrenberg, Microsoft Technical Fellow, said “The key to successful business software begins with empowering users to work where and how they want to work – the right scenarios with the right experiences on the device of the user’s choice.  We have completely rethought the user experience, tapping into extensive usability analysis to come up with an experience that is second to none.  An elegant, modern, intuitive HTML5 experience brings the principles of highly visual, immersive applications which today’s modern user expects from their consumer apps to their enterprise business application.   We’ve optimized the experience to eliminate unnecessary clicks and pop-ups – bringing the user all the right information, and where they need it, so they can be more productive.”

Thanks to its Microsoft Azure platform foundation, Microsoft Dynamics AX brings simple signup, immediate provisioning and high availability with disaster recovery and elastic capacity that allow businesses to have resources on tap but pay only for what is used.

Selected Microsoft Partners had an opportunity to experience the new Microsoft Dynamics AX solution over the last 9-12 months and to say the team are excited by the opportunities this new version affords organisations would be an understatement. The previous Dynamics AX 2012 R3 solution delivered the enterprise grade ERP suite that the market was waiting for but the next generation of AX delivers a market leading user experience and productivity on top of rich, agile and adaptive business processes.

Microsoft Dynamics AX helps enterprises increase the speed of doing business, thanks to real-time data and mobility support that give decision-makers access to insights anywhere, any time. This also gives businesses the ability to innovate faster by being able to design and change business processes based on information that is relevant and support their objectives.
