TWILIGHT UPDATE: The good, bad and not so good of implementing ERP solutions

Tony Young and Alan Whitton, two of Intergen’s senior Microsoft Dynamics consultants recently presented an Intergen Twilight seminar at NZICA on the  know-hows and dos and don’ts of implementing ERP solutions.

Tony and Alan shared their knowledge on the benefits of implementing ERP – from consolidating all business processes to allowing an organisation to become more efficient.

It was great to hear their real life stories about ERP solutions they had worked on. One message that clearly came through in their tales, is that that ERP is not just about installing a software application and being done with it; it requires an ongoing commitment.

Tony and Alan gave encouragement and guidance for implementing such solutions, including the process of implementing ERP. They highlighted the importance of the process, which includes testing, partner relationships, understanding the system by getting ‘under the hood’ and ensuring organisations work with the end users and get them involved so they understand (and can therefore make the best use of) the system.

For more information from Tony and Alan, take a look at their presentation slides from the Twilight below.

And congratulations to Jas Singh who won the degustation dinner for two at the Hippopotamus Restaurant and Bar.

Next week in Wellington we’re looking at Emergency Management Systems for your organisation – certainly a hot topic at the moment. Presented by Bryan Gallagher, come along and treat yourself to some wine and cheese, and gain some great insight into what measures can help prepare your business for the unexpected!

Have a great Easter!
