We came, we saw, we rocked IT

We’ve been back at our desks a week now and have had a chance to reflect on this year’s TechEd New Zealand – the most high velocity, high impact tech event of the year.

We’ve also almost completely recovered from a pretty epic rock effort, with Intergen’s Guitar Hero challenge drawing the crowds and winning the inaugural Most Awesome Stand award this year. Our ten speakers rocked it on-stage too – a record number of Intergenites presenting at TechEd this year (if you missed them, check out our Slideshare page for a recap on some of the sessions).

Our disruptive rockstars put on a great show in the session breaks. However there could only be one winner in the expert section, and that prestigious title (and an XBOX One) went to Matthew Rust from ActiveDocs, with a very close (nail-biting in fact) runner-up title going to Shaun Hayward from NIB who received a JB HIFI voucher. I would also like to thank the all other rockers that battled it out in the medium and hard divisions (achieving crazy high scores): Ben Agnoli, Paul Scobie, Mitchell Demler, Philip Durant, Jourdan Templeton, Sandra Street and Adam Street, to name a few.

Over the coming week, some of our Intergen TechEd rock crew will be checking in here to share their highlights. But in the meantime, here’s a video of the hard-fought Guitar Hero final and a (rock) story in pictures…. Tech disruption at its loudest!
